The Quay Café, Fremington, North Devon |

We are so lucky to have this café within walking, or cycling, distance to our home. Its located on the Tarka Trail – a cycle path that meanders along the Tarka and Taw estuaries in North Devon near the surfing beaches of Croyde, Saunton and Woolacombe.
It’s a quaintly converted old railway station with large sunny patio overlooking the river, catering for the hungry cyclists, dog walkers and visitors who use the Trail. Their menu focuses on fresh, seasonal and local produce and West country beers, ciders and wines. The husband often tucks in to the deep-friend White bait or one of the pies from the daily specials, while I love the pate and caramalised onion marmalade, or the smoked salmon. All this of course is just a prelude to the amazing cakes on offer – they change daily but are all mouthwatering and delicious. A perfect location to while away a sunny afternoon, whilst enjoying a devon cream tea – I guess at least we cycle home to burn off some of the calories! www.fremingtonquaycafe.co.uk |
