Green Food Guide

Choose suppliers with great tasting products for guilt-free eating – buying fair trade products ensure the producers of the food get a fair price, improved working conditions and a better future. Organic farmers use natural methods that are environmentally friendly, encourage wildlife and consider the whole eco system in their farming methods.

OK, its time to come clean. Like Superman and Batman who try to save the planet, but are hiding secret identities… we at the Green Food Guide also have a day job. So while we love learning about great food, exciting recipes and new suppliers, we’ve still got to pay the bills.  And that is weddings. A wedding venue directory to be precise. And one thing we’ve learnt during our years of dealing with brides and grooms, is weddings are a very expensive business. And they’re not that eco-friendly either. But here’s some tips on how to have a “Greener” White Wedding.
Buy organic wine and champagne from an Organic drink supplier.
Ask your caterer to use local and organic food suppliers and cook with seasonal ingredients.
Find a venue close to home to cut down on transport and encourage guests to share cars or provide a bus.
Sign up with an Eco-friendly Gift list supplier or ask guests to plant a tree instead of getting you yet another toaster.
Don’t send paper invites – get your stationery supplier to make an attractive online invite that you can email out to guests.
Have your dress created by a local dressmaker or buy vintage.
Have an eco-friendly honeymoon and explore somewhere in the UK you haven’t been.
